Black Rock Runs THIS FRIDAY, JULY 3

By RICH VLECK

Upon further review of the IRL itinerary and the long-range forecast, the decision has been made to move the Holiday Weekend Races at Black Rock Speedway to a standard Friday night program.

This Independence Weekend Extravaganza will allow race teams the freedom from tyranny, points and handicapping. Along with all of the non-point action, there will be a meet and greet with stars of the Indy Racing League will help to make this a special night. They will all be in the Finger Lakes Region by Friday Night, and are sure to head north from W.G.I.

The only changes from Thursday to Friday is that the 360 Late Models will have a $1,000-to-win, $100-to-start event. The 600/270cc micro sprints have been dropped from the card.

Plenty of bonus money will be on . . .

The line-up for our $10,000 Enduro Race on November 7th, 2009 has already started. On April 5th, Clayton Weaver took home $1,000 by winning the first 40 lap Enduro race of the season. By winning he is guaranteed to start in first place when November 7th comes around. The winner of our next race on May 1st will start in second place for the Big One in November.

Watch the brief video clip of some front stretch excitement from the season's first race. A car stalled midfield on the front stretch causing a sudden need for rapid lane changes. The video is shot from inside the 3H as #93 does all he can to save himself and everyone else. Everyone involved recovered and continued on.
