Black Rock Runs THIS FRIDAY, JULY 3

Upon further review of the IRL itinerary and the long-range forecast, the decision has been made to move the Holiday Weekend Races at Black Rock Speedway to a standard Friday night program.

This Independence Weekend Extravaganza will allow race teams the freedom from tyranny, points and handicapping. Along with all of the non-point action, there will be a meet and greet with stars of the Indy Racing League will help to make this a special night. They will all be in the Finger Lakes Region by Friday Night, and are sure to head north from W.G.I.

The only changes from Thursday to Friday is that the 360 Late Models will have a $1,000-to-win, $100-to-start event. The 600/270cc micro sprints have been dropped from the card.

Plenty of bonus money will be on hand over the course of the night, including a $1,000-to-win street stock feature. The street stock drivers will also have a chance to win $1,000 Saturday Night at Canandaigua. There is a $500 bonus for any driver that can win both events, meaning a weekend sweep could be worth $2,500!

Because this is the first racing weekend of the month, a $1,000-to-win FWD Enduro returns to the card. A second row starting spot will be awarded to the winner of the 30-lap event for November’s $10,000-to-win “Big One”.

The highly competitive sportsman cars also open up their draw, while continuing with DIRTcar crate rules. Aluminum or steel wheels are still permitted. $800 will be on the line for the winner of this event.

There will be plenty of 4-cylinder divisions also on the card, with the Signs Plus of Kanona 4-Cylinders, Ladies 4-cylinders, Bandits and the 4-cylinder modifieds all part of the night’s festivities.

Once again, all divisions will have an open draw upon entry into the pit area on Friday Night. Grandstand admission is just $10, with racing getting under way, as always, at 6:45 p.m. For more information, visit www.BlackRockSpeedway.com.
