St. Catharines, ONT…The Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Late Model Tour will roar back to action at Dean Hoag’s Black Rock Speedway (BRS) on Friday night with an action packed program. The Tour has made stops at Little Valley Speedway, Woodhull Raceway, and Humberstone Speedway leading up to Friday night’s program.

The program is billed as "IRL Meet and Greet” with many Indy Racing League celebrities expected to make the 10 mile trip north from Watkins Glen to meet and greet. Danica and all of her IRL friends have an invitation and a charter bus will be waiting when they complete practice at Watkins Glen International.

Black Rock includes the BRP CanAm late models as part of their weekly program so many of the teams may have a slight home track advantage, but most of the BRP CanAm touring teams have raced at the fast and spacious Dundee, NY track in the past. Currently Jason Knowles and JJ Mazur, both second generation race car drivers, are locked in a tight (5 point separation) battle for the track championship. Neither of those drivers has ever won a BRP CanAm tour event. Both plan to change that on Friday night.

Actually there are good odds that a first time winner could find victory lane on Friday night. Black Rock has produced five first time winners in ten events. Quinn Sutherland, Dave DuBois, Mikey Wonderling, Wayne Robertson, and Bryce Davis all earned their first tour win at the Yates County, NY track.

There is a story for all of the 30 some drivers that will start the Independence Day Holiday Weekend at BRS. Today let’s touch on the story for Bryce Davis. Davis, a 19 year old second generation race car driver, and his Hot Rod Lincoln are hot. The kid has won weekly Series events at Little Valley and Woodhull in the past few weeks. Davis was second to Wayne Robertson, the Series point leader, at Humberstone on June 20. In the two Series tour events at BRS last year he was a winner and an almost winner. He will never forget either, but the almost win plays very heavy on his mind. The handsome teenager needs to stay both hot and cool to find Victory Lane on Friday night.

BRS gates will open at 5:00 for a 6:45 start of 4 cylinder stock car racing. The BRP CanAm late models will first hit the track for hot laps at 7:30 about the time Danica’s bus arrives. Will she be in it???
