IMCA Modifieds also in action while all other divisions set front rows for May 4
Rich Vleck, DUNDEE, NY, (April 15, 2012)- With one great show already in the books for 2012, the Black Rock Speedway will once again swing open this weekend for another appearance by the modifieds plus plenty more.
The second of five modified races of the season will be held this Friday Night, April 20, the 25-lap event paying $1,500 to win will headline a unique show to kick off the Friday schedule. The next time the modifieds will be in attendance will not be until July so don’t miss out on an opportunity to check out the Big Blocks and Small Blocks challenging each other on one track.
The IMCA Modifieds will return for their second point race of the year after starting their season on March 31. Eddie Sites scored the win in the season opener but a host of local competitors will be looking for their first win of the season this weekend.
In addition to those divisions racing, there will be open practices for any other type of car. There is more incentive to compete than just feeling out the car though, for those divisions that will be racing weekly at Black Rock in 2012 (sportsman, late models, street stocks, 4-cylinders, FWD 4-cylinders and Bandits) their final session of the night will be in heat race format in which the winner of each event will earn a front row starting position for the first point race of the year on Friday, May 4.
May 4 will be the first full racing program of the season, but also on the card that night will be the Insinger Race Fuels 360 Spring Sprint Nationals featuring the Patriot Sprint Tour and the United Racing Company.
Gates will swing open at 5:00 P.M. Friday with practice getting underway around 6:00 P.M. Racing for the modifieds and IMCA Modifieds will start at 6:45 P.M. General Admission is just $10 for adults and free for those 16 years or under. For more information, visit www.BlackRockSpeedway.com.
