OUTLAW SPEEDWAY PREPARES FOR ANNUAL MIKE JACKSON MEMORIAL ON APRIL 19, 2024

The event to pay out plenty of number 19’s to coincide with Action Jackson’s car number.

(Dundee, NY) It was second verse, same as the first as the Outlaw Speedway lost the Lucas Oil Nationals on April 5-6 and most recently the Cal Lane Memorial Spring Nationals on the weekend of April 12 -13, 2024.  The Lane Memorial be made up on September 20, 2024, as part pf the Fall Nationals.

This sets up the Annual Mike Jackson Memorial for Friday, April 19, 2024.

Mike Jackson was a former driver of 602 Sportsman, Modifieds and 305 Sprints as well as promoting the Black Rock Speedway.  The guy lived and breathed racing in so many capacities and unfortunately the racing fraternity lost Mike to a lengthy battle with Cancer in December of 2020.

“Mike was a heck of a racer, and he left us too soon in life.  The past several years since his passing I have put the Mike Jackson Memorial on the Outlaw Speedway schedule.  This year it worked out that April 19 fell on a Friday so in his honor we will run the event that night.”  That according to track owner, Tyler Siri.  

Big bucks will be on the line with the Sunrise Insulation/Knapp and Schlappi Lumber 602 Sportsman running for a winners take of $1919.  

The Friendly Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Modified feature winner collects $3919.

The Swarthout Recycling Street Stocks will race for $1519 while the NAPA Hobby Stocks and the Winner’s Circle Deli Mini Stocks will each pay $1019 to the drivers that visit victory lane.

“The past few years that we have hosted the Mike Jackson Memorial the turnout of Sportsman and Modifieds has been huge, stated Outlaw Speedway owner, Tyler Siri.  Mike had a lot of friends that he ran against primarily in the 602 Sportsman and Modified Classes and we are gearing up for another huge car count in all 5 weekly divisions.”

The Mike Jackson Tribute Event will wrap up racing activity at Outlaw for the month of April as the track will take a one-night respite on Friday, April 26, 2024, with racing to resume on May 3 with the Royal Slivers Memorial Season Points lid lifter.  

Modified and Sportsman drivers are again reminded that the mandatory American Racer Tire compound for the Jackson Memorial is 44/48.  However, teams can run any compound AR Tire for the first three weeks in May to use up any soft rubber they have left over.  Beginning May 24, it will be back to the mandatory 44/48 Minimum AR tires for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Pit gates for the April 19, 2024, event at the Outlaw Speedway open at 5:00 pm with Main Grandstand seating to follow at 5:30 pm.  Cars hit the speedway at 7:00 pm.

An all-new inventory of 2024 Outlaw Speedway Apparel will be available and for those of legal age the Outlaw Speedway Saloon in the pit area as well as the Turn 4 Tavern in the grandstands will both be open serving ice cold beer.
